Entrepreneurs such as Artists and creatives earn wages through their art or services.

When entrepreneurs reach $600+ with a client, they will receive various tax forms from the IRS.

Being classified as a Sole proprietor or contractor does not offer asset protection.

The IRS will classify these entrepreneurs if they’re not informed about business structures.

Solution

As a solution, I created an app to help users walk through the process of starting a business. Users can choose between three business structures, a sole proprietor, a partnership, or a limited liability company.

Process

My first initial step was diving into competitive analysis and deep secondary research.

1.

Then, I met with stakeholders by conducting directed storytelling. With this information, I created a present user journey map.

2.

With the information from the competitive research, user interviews, and journey map, I sketched low-fidelity wireframes.
